ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE

 

  • The Selection Committee meet every April.
  • Children must be at least 2 years of age by the 1st May in the year they are due to commence St. Brigid’s Day Nursery.
  • Children should be toilet trained before commencing St. Brigid’s Day Nursery.
  • Children must reside in the local catchment area. (www.stbrigidsnursery.ie)
  • Younger siblings of children who have attended St. Brigid’s Day Nursery receive priority admittance, if living in the local catchment area.
  • Children referred by Public Health Nurses, Social Workers, Speech Therapists, Dublin North City & County Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service, Family Support Workers or other relevant professional agencies receive priority admittance, provided all necessary supports & resources are in place prior to commencing St. Brigid’s Day Nursery.
  • Priority admission is granted firstly to younger siblings, secondly to children referred by professional agencies and thirdly to children on the waiting list, which is determined by their date of registration.
  • Following this selection process, children who are next on the waiting list are offered the next available places. This is usually determined by the date of registration.
  • Successful applicants are notified by the 1st May.
  • Parents / guardians are given two weeks to accept the offer.
  • A deposit of two weeks fees is taken in advance of commencing preschool.
  • All details of the child’s application form must be completed.
  • All parents/guardians must disclose any health & care, behavioural or developmental needs of their child, on application, including any professional reports. Failure to do so may jeopardise their place.
  • Four weeks’ notice of leaving must be given.
